Tuesday — Build & Stage
Finalize the article copy and proofread it.
Add the article to the Leadership Library Posts database.
Complete the publishing properties: excerpt, series, topics, slug, Super slug, meta title, meta description, publish date, and status.
Add the article image as the page cover so it appears in the Leadership Library gallery.
Keep the image in the article body too if you want it visible when readers open the post.
Verify the article page is structurally nested under Detrick Strategy → Leadership Library. Do not assume appearing in the gallery means the page is nested correctly.
Confirm the Leadership Library gallery is still using the known-good layout. Avoid changing layout settings unless something is actually broken.
Check Published only when the page is ready to go live.
Tuesday — Verify Super
In Super, refresh the page list if needed.
Wait for Super’s Last Updated timestamp to advance before testing.
Open the live Leadership Library page and confirm the article card appears.
Click the card and confirm the article opens without a root-page or invalid-structure error.
Open the live article URL in a private/incognito browser window to verify a visitor can reach it.
Do one visual check of the live article: title, image, formatting, links, and ending.
Copy the final live article URL.
Tuesday — Prepare LinkedIn
Draft the LinkedIn introduction separately from the article excerpt; give it enough context to make someone want to click through.
Paste the live article URL into the LinkedIn post.
If LinkedIn cannot generate a preview but the URL works in a private browser, proceed anyway.
Schedule the LinkedIn post for Wednesday at 11:30 AM.
Mark LinkedIn Posted after the scheduled post has actually published.
Add the live URL to the Published URL property in Notion.
Wednesday — Let It Publish
Confirm the scheduled LinkedIn post published successfully.
Click the LinkedIn link once as a reader and confirm it reaches the live article.
Then leave the plumbing alone. 🧭
Known-Good Rules
- A database/gallery view can display an article even when the article page itself is not nested under the website root.
- For Super, the article page must live under Detrick Strategy → Leadership Library.
- Gallery / Medium is the known-good card configuration; Large caused the post to disappear during setup.
- Feed displays the full article, so it is not the right Leadership Library index layout.
- A Notion image inside the article body is not the same thing as a page cover. The gallery uses the page cover for its image preview.
- Change one thing at a time when troubleshooting, then wait for Super to sync before making another change.
Pipeline Goal
Keep two Leadership Library posts publication-ready whenever possible: one scheduled for the next release and one waiting in the hopper. That gives the publishing system room to work around your life rather than turning release morning into a fire drill.
